CRAB has changed my life, given me confidence, taught me to be part of a team, brings me a joy I have never felt before! I get to be out on the water and when I am sailing I don’t have any disabilities; I have freedom and makes me believe I can do anything!

Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB) was founded 35 years ago on the principle that people with disabilities, wounded warriors and children from underserved communities should have the opportunity to enjoy boating on the Bay.

Since opening the premier Adaptive Boating Center in 2023, CRAB has grown significantly. Guests continue to gain confidence in their abilities as they learn to sail while CRAB has greatly expanded its capacity for more guests. Dream Catcher, CRAB’s 40’ power catamaran, provides guests the option to enjoy the water without leaving the comfort of their wheelchair. Wellness programs are held all year so guests can remain active, creative, and social while enjoying a fully accessible environment. This year, CRAB aims to serve more guests than ever before. Your support makes that ambitious goal possible.

This clearly demonstrates the CRAB's commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for people of all abilities. CRAB and the ABC strive to ensure that all its guests feel welcome and comfortable. The ABC is a shining example of how a modern facility can be designed to be accessible, sustainable, and inclusive for all people.
