Hi, friends and family! It is that time of year when I ask you to support my fundraising efforts for the CRAB Cup.
As you may remember, Chesapeake Regional Accessible Boating (CRAB) is a local Annapolis based non-profit that supports people with disabilities, recovering Veterans, and underprivileged kids. The CRAB Cup is a regatta that is a major source of funding for CRAB.
For the past five years, I have sailed with my great fried Admiral Tim McGee. We have been fortunate to win our class for five consecutive years. More importantly, we have finished as the top fund raising team for three of those years, and finished second in the other two. Thank you!
As many of you know, Tim suffered a severe stroke in 2016, and CRAB has been a terrific way for the two of us to get out on the water together. We are still able to sail together for short periods of time (two hours or so), but the CRAB Cup requires us to be on the water for five to seven hours, which has become too long for Tim. So, while we won’t be competing in the sailing, Tim will be honored at the CRAB Cup party after the finish and will hand out trophies to the finishers.
