Help me make a difference on Chesapeake Bay!
Support equal access to the Chesapeake Bay for people with disabilities, wounded warriors & disadvantaged youth
- I first learned about Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB) in the early 1990s when my father, who was paralyzed in 1985, met CRAB’s founder, Don Backe. Today, as a CRAB Board member and long-time advocate for accessibility, I’m raising funds to ensure people with disabilities, wounded warriors, and disadvantaged youth can experience the joy and healing power of being on the water.
- Since its founding in 1991, and especially with the opening of its Adaptive Boating Center in 2023, CRAB has allowed more guests to build confidence and community through free, accessible sailing, boating, fishing, radio-controlled sailing, and land-based therapy courses. Specialized boats like Dream Catcher make it possible to enjoy the water without leaving a wheelchair, and year-round wellness programs keep guests, their caregivers, and family members active and engaged.
- On August 16, 2025, I’ll be participating in the CRAB Cup. Every donation—big or small—directly supports these programs and opens new opportunities for our guests. Your support helps create more life-changing moments on the water. Thank you for joining me!
- BONUS! Keith & Gretchen will match all donations up to a total of $5,000! Let's go!
