Changing Lives One Sail at a Time
Raising the Sails and Charting New Courses
Discover the impact of your support on the future of adaptive boating at CRAB, whether you're a long-time supporter or newly engaged with our mission. I am excited to share that last year marked a historic milestone in CRAB's 33-year history of providing sailing instruction on the Chesapeake Bay for people with disabilities, recovering warriors, and children from underserved communities. Thanks to our supporters' generosity, we served over 1,850 guests—50% more than the year before!
Your contribution doesn’t just impact CRAB; it opens doors for 65 other nonprofits, amplifying our collective community influence. By introducing innovative programs, including the Art Savidge Radio-Controlled Sailboat Program and successful fishing trips led by expert fisherman George Turner, along with hosting various engaging activities such as yoga, music, and art classes, CRAB continues to serve more and more members of our community!
While numbers tell part of the story, the heartfelt words of our guests express our mission most eloquently. For instance, Tara Owens shared, “Thank you for an unforgettable day on the water! The accessible sailing experience was truly amazing, and we are deeply grateful for your commitment to making sailing accessible to all.”
We proudly announce that Candid has awarded CRAB a platinum rating for its commitment to transparency and excellence in donation management.
As part of this incredible journey, we are embarking on a transformative initiative to create an Endowment Fund to ensure that CRAB is here to provide its therapeutic programs for generations to come.
Your contribution will not only bring tangible change to the lives of those we serve but also introduce new audiences and create new stewards of the Chesapeake Bay, the nation's largest natural estuary. Together, we can achieve our vision and forge lasting change.
