This afternoon we dropped our son Michael off at his summer camp for adults with special needs. At camp he swims, rides horses, and eats smores around a campfire. He likes dancing with the girls, too. After each camp session Michael shows a renewed sense of independence and—best of all—describes his experience as “fun, fun, fun.”
CRAB offers our guests many of the same benefits: enjoyment, recreation, new friends, and a feeling of independence. Spend time on our docks at the end of a sail, and you’ll see that our guests have had “fun, fun, fun.”
Summer camps for special-needs adults are few in number and are--not surprisingly, given the staff they require--expensive. Most families with special needs adults frankly don’t have the resources to provide their loved ones a week of camp.
CRAB offers our guests with several hours of “fun, fun, fun” at no charge. We can only do that with your help. When we sail the Night Owl again this year in the CRAB Cup, we hope to have your wind in our sails.
